Beaches In Pembrokeshire -
Tenby Castle
Access via the harbour or down a steep flight of steep off The Paragon. This superb, sandy, cliff backed beach all can disappear altogether at high tide but is very interesting at low tide, especially between Castle Hill and St Catherine’s Island which, unfortunately, is out of bounds. The boats to Caldey Island depart from Castle Beach at low tide when the harbour is dry. Dog restrictions apply to the whole beach west of St Catherine’s Island from 1st May & 30th September
Awards: Blue Flag Award. Seaside Award.
Parking: The multi-storey car park is the closest but fills up quickly in summer. If you arrive after 11am during the school summer holidays, head straight for the park and ride and use the free shuttle bus.
Beach facilities: Lifeguard from the end of June to the end of September.
Shoreline facilities: Toilets, cafe and museum/art gallery on Castle Hill. Tourist information centre, numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants, many interesting shops and a good choice of hotels, caravan parks, B&B’s and self catering in Tenby.
